Our Story
Where It All Began
We’ve always been big believers in staying active. My partner, Ryan, and I, Paul, met at Edinboro University while studying physics. Even back then, we’d talk about inventing something one day—something practical, simple, and useful.
After college, life took us in different directions. Ryan went into manufacturing, and I joined the military, where my love (and need) for coffee truly began.
The Start of an Idea
In the military, coffee was a daily necessity. Cream and sugar were rare, so we usually drank it black. I drank it because I had to—not because I liked it.
After deployment, cold brew coffee started gaining popularity. When I tried it for the first time, it was smooth, refreshing, and easy to drink. But the $5-$6 price tag wasn’t something I could justify every day.
So, I tried making it at home—but quickly realized every recipe called for a special coarse grind. I already had regular coffee for my drip machine. Why did I need two different grinds just to enjoy coffee in two ways?
Reconnecting and Reinventing
After leaving the military, Ryan and I stayed active and often met up for mountain bike rides. During COVID, with more free time, we started talking about invention ideas again—just like back in college.
That’s when the idea struck:
“What if we could make cold brew using K-cups?”
K-cups are convenient, clean, energy-efficient, and already part of most people’s daily routine. Bringing cold brew into that world just made sense. So, we decided to give it a shot.
